SkyTeam alliance member Air France has tapped Safran Seats to equip a further 18 Boeing 777-300ERs with new doored mini-suites for business class.
Air France has placed an additional order for “700 Cirrus 5C03 seats” in support of the 18-aircraft retrofit program, Safran Seats said in a statement published on LinkedIn during the Paris Air Show, where both parties inked the follow-on deal.
Air France, which operates several different Boeing 777-300ER interior layouts, is a longtime customer of Cirrus from Safran Seats (formerly Zodiac) including for its Boeing 787s.
The popular reverse herringbone product, configured 1-2-1 with direct aisle access for all, ticks all the baseline boxes for modern business class comfort.
But the Cirrus 5C03 model represents an upgrade; it is the same doored mini-suites that Air France first revealed in 2022 and subsequently rolled out on an initial 12 of its 43 Boeing 777-300ERs.
Tech enhancements in the Cirrus 5C03 include a 17.3-inch 4K screen with Bluetooth for headphones, wireless charging, USB A + C, and AC power.
“Air France is strengthening its strategic partnership with Safran Seats to equip its entire fleet of Boeing 777-300 aircraft with new business class seats,” revealed Safran Seats in Paris.
This latest deal brings the total number of seats ordered to “2,200 by 2028,” added the French seatmaker. Financial terms have not been disclosed.
