Mark Hacker, Chief Technical Officer, Unum, says: “Together with our CAA Alternative Procedures to Design Organisation Approval (ADOA) and our Part 21G Production Organisation Approval (POA), taking this next TSO step strengthens our ability to meet airline needs amidst current sector capacity challenges.

“It’s going to be another big year for Unum. Our certified business class seats have been awarded design accolades and with our manufacturing base at London Gatwick, we are ready for widebody and single aisle customer programmes and have delivery slots available for early 2026.”

The ADOA approval achieved earlier in the year, which Unum’s first TSO application was part of, followed a successful CAA-witnessed certification test campaign, validating Unum’s design and certification processes. The approval demonstrated the ability to meet critical certification requirements, affirming Unum’s capacity to manage design, apply for certification, and manufacture in-house efficiently and effectively.

With the second TSO approval underway, Unum will continue its dynamic testing campaign, supporting the installation of its product family across multiple aircraft types.
