Astronics Corporation, a leading provider of advanced technologies for global aerospace, defense, and other mission critical industries, announced the launch of anti-microbial aircraft in-seat power Outlet Units developed under its ongoing Product Innovation Program.

Beginning in the third quarter of 2021, Astronics’ most popular EmPower® in-seat power systems Outlet Units will be produced and available as anti-microbial products using the latest technology to create an Anti-Microbial formulation.  This includes the EmPower® system 110VAC, Type A USB, Type C USB and all combination Outlet Units.  It is expected that all EmPower system Outlet Units will be produced with this new Anti-Microbial formulation by early 2022.

Astronics Anti-Microbial Outlet Units have been tested to ISO22196 – Test for Antimicrobial Activity of Plastics.  Testing to this industry recognized standard ensures Astronics products are effective against microbials.
