Diehl Aerosystems, supplier to aircraft manufacturers worldwide, marked the launch of its “On-Site-Support Service” (OSS) in Charleston, South Carolina (USA), with a ceremony in the presence of Boeing representatives.

The Diehl OSS in the Leeds area near Charleston, based within a newly refurbished facility covering 5,000 sq ft/550 sq meters, includes a local commercial representative and supporting staff who will ensure a seamless flow of Diehl parts for Boeing airplanes assembled in Charleston.

This local presence will enable Diehl to provide the ability and agility to deliver just-in-time support to the growing demands of the Boeing production system. The facility also has the potential for expansion to support additional activities such as warehousing and kitting along with capacity for potential growth opportunities.

For most of the Boeing aircraft programs, Diehl continues to supply state-of-the-art cabin interior lighting solutions for decades. Now in Charleston, Diehl is also providing cabin lining packages and supporting sub-structures for the 787-10 Dreamliner.

The Charleston representation joins several other facilities in a long tradition of Diehl Aerosystems presence in the USA. A Customer Support Center (CSC) in Sterrett (Alabama) is serving customers’ needs in the Americas since 1987, in addition to other CSCs in Tou-louse (France) and Singapore for the rest of the world. A representation in Everett near Seattle, Washington, also close to a Boeing site, is covering both a commercial liaison office and OSS services, including warehousing and kitting operation for lighting parts since 2010. Diehl’s OSS organization for the Americas also covers offices close to customers’ final assembly lines in Mobile, Alabama (USA), and Montreal (Canada).

Diehl Aerosystems is a corporate division of Diehl Stiftung & Co. KG and covers all aerospace activities of the Diehl Group. With its business units Diehl Aerospace (a joint venture with Thales), Diehl Aircabin, Diehl Comfort Modules and Apparatebau Gauting, Diehl Aerosystems is a leading systems supplier for avionics and cabin solutions. Diehl Aerosystems currently employs more than 5,400 staff. Amongst its customers are leading aircraft manufacturers, such as Airbus (both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters), Boeing, Bombardier and Embraer, as well as airlines and other operators of commercial and business aircraft.
