EL AL continues to expand its route network and today announces the launch of a new nonstop route to San Francisco, United States, which will begin operating on October 25, 2026.
The new route is part of the airline’s significant expansion initiative. Over recent months, EL AL has announced eleven new destinations worldwide across Asia, Europe, South America and now North America, as part of its ongoing growth strategy and efforts to further strengthen its global presence.
The San Francisco route will offer three weekly flights operating on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, using the airline’s advanced Dreamliner aircraft. The aircraft features three classes of service: Economy, Premium and Business Class. The flight duration is expected to be approximately fifteen hours.
The outbound flight number from Israel will be LY49, as a tribute to San Francisco’s football team.
EL AL continues to strengthen its North America operations. During the upcoming winter season, the airline will operate forty-five weekly flights to its six destinations in the United States: New York (JFK and EWR), Miami, Boston, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
The new route is designed to meet growing demand from the business community and the large Israeli community in the San Francisco Bay Area, one of the world’s leading hubs for high-tech and innovation.
In addition, thanks to EL AL’s strategic cooperation agreement with Delta Air Lines, customers can combine EL AL’s wide range of nonstop destinations with a variety of onward connections across the continent, while earning Matmid points and Diamonds.
Ticket sales open today (Monday) on the EL AL website and via travel agents, starting at $1,199 for a round-trip Economy Class CLASSIC fare, which includes baggage and seat selection.
Shlomi Zafrani, Senior Vice President Commercial and Sales at EL AL: “San Francisco is one of the world’s most important centers for technology, innovation and business, with a large and influential Israeli community. The launch of this new route is intended to meet significant demand from the business sector and the Israeli community in the region and to enable a more direct, high-quality and convenient connection between Israel and Silicon Valley. Together with the range of destinations we launched this year, EL AL continues to expand and strengthen its route network, connecting Israel to the world with nonstop flights for leisure, business and more.”
