Recaro Aircraft Seating’s PL3530 premium economy and CL3710 economy class seats have been installed on Vistara’s first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Vistara is the first Indian airline with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
“Recaro is always looking to expand its footprint, and this is a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with a new partner,” said Dr. Mark Hiller, CEO and Shareholder at Recaro Aircraft Seating. “There can be a lot of challenges when entering a new market, but having a strong partner can make all the difference.”
The PL3530 premium economy class seat sets the standards for comfort and functionality through its ergonomic shape, flexible equipment options and generous space. Its main comfort features include the individually-adjustable calf rest, seven-inch reclining backrest, and six-way adjustable headrest, which create a relaxed atmosphere for long-haul passengers. The large tray table, plentiful storage space, and integrated entertainment system also improve the overall passenger experience.
The CL3710 economy class seat is a master of long-haul flights with its remarkable achievements in weight, comfort and design. The modular design gives it the lightest weight in its class without compromising on comfort. With features such as the six-way headrest, high literature pocket, and easily-accessible power ports, the CL3710 meets the needs of any passenger. In addition, the seat’s lightweight structure and efficient design helps airlines reduce aircraft weight and fuel costs, as well as maintenance expenses.
“We are committed to providing our customers a distinguished flying experience that offers maximum comfort and great style in all three cabins of service,” said Mr. Vinod Kannan, Chief Commercial Officer of Vistara. “We are delighted to collaborate with Recaro to bring Economy and Premium Economy products of global standards on India’s first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft that further cement our proposition of offering a five-star flying experience to our customers.”
Headquartered in Gurgaon, India, Vistara is a joint venture between Tata group and Singapore Airlines that started operations in January 2015. It has consistently raised the bar for operations and service delivery in the Indian aviation industry in a short span of time to be today known as India’s only five-star airline. Today, Vistara connects 36 destinations in and outside of India, operates over 200 flights a day with a fleet of 32 Airbus A320, seven Boeing 737-800NG and one Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, and has flown more than 20 million customers since starting operations.
