Finnair opens new Schengen Lounge with Platinum Corner

Proud of its beautiful new Schengen Lounge in Helsinki Airport, oneworld alliance member Finnair has shared more photos of the luxurious space, which opened on 9 July and can accommodate up to 440 guests.

Located near gate 21 on the third floor, the lounge is inspired by Finnair’s Nordic design language — wooden surfaces and earthy colors are prominent — and is divided into two separate areas: a classic Business Lounge and Finnair’s exclusive new Platinum Corner.

Replacing the prior lounge, the new facility offers distinct spaces for resting, working, dining and socializing, as well as a gorgeous view of the runway. Soundproof workspaces are designed to meet the needs of busy commuters, says Finnair.

Finnair Platinum Corner

Representing a new concept for Finnair, the Platinum Corner is dedicated to Finnair Plus Platinum and Platinum Lumo members, as well as oneworld Emerald cardholders.

Travelers and bloggers on social media seem pleased about the new offering. “It’s an upgrade from the old lounge with a cozy vibe,” said one user on X.

“It just lacks an ‘a la carte’ menu, offering only a small buffet. Not quite the non-Schengen lounge, but still nice!”
