Lufthansa Systems announced that Porter Airlines opted for NetLine/Plan. The Canadian carrier chose NetLine/Plan due to it being the most powerful application in the market and its established position in Canada. Lufthansa Systems in turn solidifies its market leadership of NetLine/Plan in Canada as Porter Airlines is one of the top five passenger airlines and one of the fastest-growing airlines in that region.
Developed in collaboration with many leading network airlines worldwide, the industry-leading network planning tool from Lufthansa Systems targets the toughest network planning challenges the airlines face.
NetLine/Plan will enable Porter Airlines to maximize profitability across its entire schedule as it assists the Canadian carrier in making intelligent network planning decisions with unmatched speed, accuracy, and transparency. While other tools take several minutes or even hours to deliver network planning results, NetLine/Plan can perform a full O&D based network evaluation in less than 30 seconds, allowing Porter Airlines to work more efficiently and evaluate multiple network scenarios related to its planned major international expansion.
Furthermore, the alliances evaluation features from NetLine/Plan will help Porter Airlines grow their global partnerships portfolio, to further increase its network’s footprint. Additionally, sophisticated proprietary models and data allow NetLine/Plan to forecast profitability with the accuracy and consistency that is required in today’s fast changing airline industry. Finally, NetLine/Plan offers Porter Airlines the transparency needed to make decisions with confidence.
“We are delighted to start our partnership with Lufthansa Systems. Their expertise will help us balance commercial realities and operational constraints and adjust our network planning accordingly. We are excited to use NetLine/Plan to help shape profitable growth of our route network. We are expanding our fleet adding 50 Embraer E195-E-2s and so, we needed a tool to assist us taking the right capacity decisions. With NetLine/Plan we get the solution that supports us in the best possible way”, said Andrew Pierce, VP of Network Planning and Reporting at Porter Airlines.
“We are very pleased to partner with Porter Airlines. While gaining a valuable customer we also took a great step in strengthening our position in the Canadian market. We look forward to increasing our engagement within the Canadian market in the future,” added Genaro Zarazua, Senior Vice President Regional Management Americas at Lufthansa Systems.
