Beginning today, Guests who want a premium experience can book Spirit First or Premium Economy, while those seeking the most economical option can select Value.

“We’re simplifying choices so travelers can better understand and compare their options and the exceptional value that Spirit provides,” said Rana Ghosh, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Spirit Airlines.

“Our Big Front Seat has been one of the best kept secrets, and these updates will bring more travelers in the know that Spirit offers one of the industry’s most affordable options for a premium experience.”

The newly named travel options are available for booking now online and the Spirit mobile app:

  • Spirit First (formerly Go Big) provides enhanced comfort with a Big Front Seat®, a carry-on and first checked bag, no change or cancel fees, Priority Check-In and Boarding, reserved overhead bin space, complimentary snacks and drinks, including alcoholic beverages, and streaming access to fast Wi-Fi.
  • Premium Economy (formerly Go Comfy) allows Guests to stretch out with more space in a Premium Seat with extra legroom or a blocked middle seat and includes one carry-on bag, no change or cancel fees, Priority Boarding and reserved overhead bin space.

Spirit is installing extra-legroom Premium Seats, which offer four additional inches of legroom, across its fleet. The extra-legroom seating includes seven rows and more than 40 seats near the front of the aircraft and will be available for travel based on availability beginning July 9, 2025.

Spirit plans to phase out the blocked middle seat to allow for the introduction of extra-legroom seating.

  • Value (formerly Go) maximizes affordability and flexibility with the option for travelers to select only the extras they need. Seat selection, one carry-on bag, checked bags and other options can be purchased separately.

In response to feedback from Guests who want to build their own travel experience, Spirit is phasing out its Go Savvy travel option. The airline will honor all Go Savvy reservations.

Spirit’s Guest Experience Enhancements

The new names build on Spirit’s transformation and efforts to further elevate its Guest experience, including recent upgrades to the Free Spirit loyalty program. Spirit’s net promoter score (NPS), which measures Guests’ likelihood to recommend the airline, is higher for 2025 than any previous year, a result of the carrier’s investment in building a friendlier and more flexible experience.
