Breeze launched commercial service in May of 2021 with a fleet of 10 Embraer 190 and three Embraer 195 aircraft. The aircraft played a pivotal role in Breeze’s expansion and growth, introducing Guests to the Breeze brand and operating over 5,000 flights prior to Breeze receiving its first A220-300 delivery in December 2021.

To date, Breeze has taken delivery of 55 of its 90 firm A220 orders with 30 options still remaining. The A220 offers the tallest ceilings, widest aisles, biggest overhead storage bins and largest windows in its category and each aircraft is delivered with high-speed connectivity and a customized cabin configuration – including first class “Breeze Ascent” and Extra Legroom seats. The quiet, fuel-efficient aircraft also plays an important role in decreasing the airline’s operating costs while reducing Breeze’s impact on the environment.

“Our long-term strategy has always been to leverage the strengths and efficiencies of the Airbus A220-300 to help us cost-effectively scale our unique business model which centers around offering affordable, nonstop flights from unserved and underserved markets,” said David Neeleman, Breeze Airways founder and CEO.

“That being said, the Embraer 190 literally got Breeze off the ground in 2021 and has served Breeze and our Guests well – and so – it is with a bit of nostalgia and a lot of gratitude that we bid farewell to our final Ejet.”

The airline’s fresh take on affordable flying was recognized by TIME Magazine and Forbes, naming Breeze to the TIME100 Most Influential Companies and America’s Best Brands for Value lists for 2026, respectively. In 2025, Breeze was recognized as one of Fast Company’s World’s Most Innovative Companies and named Best Major Airline in North America by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX). It has also been recognized by Travel + Leisure as a top 4 Best Domestic Airline every year since it began flying.

Breeze currently operates more than 300 year-round and seasonal routes to 91 cities in the United States, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. Coupled with its brand-new fleet of Airbus A220-300 aircraft and premium products like free family seating, fast onboard WiFi, preferred seat options, and no change or cancel fees, Breeze is making it nice to fly affordably.
