Korean Air will officially open its newly renovated, next-generation flagship lounge at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on March 6, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s ongoing investment in premium customer experience and global brand transformation.
Ahead of the official opening, Korean Air hosted a two-day unveiling event starting February 26 at the new facility, located in the Tom Bradley International Terminal. Approximately 200 invited guests, industry partners and stakeholders attended the event to tour the space and experience its upgraded facilities.
Designed by Singapore-based hospitality design firm LTW Designworks, the lounge represents a KRW 65 billion investment and took 22 months to complete. As the first overseas lounge to be renovated ahead of Korean Air’s upcoming integration with Asiana Airlines, the facility introduces Korean Air’s evolving brand philosophy while incorporating elements of its rich heritage.

A premium space reflecting modern Korean luxury
The renovated lounge spans two levels: the First Class Lounge on the 6th floor and the Miler Club & Prestige Class Lounge on the 5th floor. Spanning a total of 1,675 square meters— 1.27 times larger than the previous facility — it is now Korean Air’s largest directly operated overseas lounge.

Located on the upper levels of the terminal, the lounge features floor-to-ceiling windows and a balcony terrace with panoramic views of the airport interior, creating an open and comfortable environment for passengers.
The interior design maximizes natural light to reflect the vibrant energy of Los Angeles, while warm wood textures and premium stone materials embody a refined interpretation of “modern Korean luxury.” Curated Korean artwork, including Buncheong ceramics, brushstroke ink paintings, and traditional moon jars (Dalhangari), further enriches the space, blending Eastern heritage with contemporary global aesthetics.
The First Class Lounge has been designed to deliver a highly personalized, elevated experience beyond the traditional airport lounge concept. It features two private suites for ultimate relaxation, an à la carte fine-dining service with made-to-order dishes, and a full-service bar featuring handcrafted cocktails and premium beverages prepared by professional bartenders.

The Miler Club and Prestige Class Lounges also offer an open-kitchen live station concept, where chefs prepare fresh dishes on site. Guests can also enjoy locally inspired offerings such as Southern California craft beers and a signature Los Angeles coffee blend. Miler Club passengers can order dedicated special menu items right from their seats using a convenient QR-code digital ordering system.

Beyond dining, the lounge is thoughtfully zoned to accommodate diverse passenger needs, with dedicated business areas, family seating spaces and premium showers for pre-flight refreshment.
Strengthening global lounge infrastructure
Through the transformation of the LAX lounge, Korean Air aims to further strengthen its presence as a leading global carrier. LAX serves as Korean Air’s primary gateway in North America and a key hub connecting Asia, the United States, and Latin America.
The lounge will be accessible to eligible Korean Air passengers as well as premium customers traveling with SkyTeam partner airlines, providing international travelers an opportunity to experience Korean Air’s signature hospitality.
Following the LAX opening, Korean Air plans to continue expanding and upgrading its lounge infrastructure at major global hubs. The airline’s newly renovated lounge at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) will be unveiled later this year.
“With the opening of this flagship lounge, Korean Air will further elevate its presence at LAX while delivering a more refined and differentiated premium travel experience,” said David Pacey, Executive Vice President and Chief of In-flight Service and Lounges at Korean Air.
“We will continue to invest in our services and infrastructure to exceed the expectations of our global customers.”
