Avianca has officially unveiled its new uniforms, a collection that blends elegance, comfort and pride in belonging to the world’s second-oldest airline.
The process began with feedback from Avianca’s operations teams, which became the main inspiration for the design. Fashion designer Juanjo Oliva, who has 25 years of experience, led the project with Avianca flight attendant Robert Duke, winner of the airline’s internal “Design Lab” contest.
Together they created a collection that reflects the airline’s identity and modern image.
The new uniforms will be introduced in December and worn by more than 10,000 employees across operations, customer service and cargo. The update marks a new chapter for the airline, which last refreshed its uniforms in 2018. Old uniforms will be repurposed through projects designed to recycle materials and minimize their environmental impact.
“Each uniform represents far more than a garment: it symbolizes the history and commitment of those who welcome our passengers, accompany them on their journey, and make it possible for Avianca to continue connecting Latin America with the world. This update is a recognition of the professionalism and passion of our employees, true ambassadors of the company and key players in our transformation,” said Frederico Pedreira, CEO of Avianca.
Detalles de la nueva colección:
- All uniforms feature a blue-and-red ribbon inspired by Avianca’s 2023 brand refresh: blue represents that “the sky belongs to everyone,” while red honors more than 105 years of history.
- New pieces include airport vests, overskirts for cabin crew, belts, sashes, and scarves, designed for greater comfort and adaptability to different climates.
- Fabrics are high-quality, breathable, versatile, and easy to maintain, tailored for all body types and roles.
- Footwear includes loafers, heels, sneakers, and the iconic boots for ground operations, maintenance, and Avianca Cargo.
- More than 282,000 garments were produced for this update, 94% of which were crafted with Colombian talent and pride.
- The uniforms also incorporate high-quality materials sourced from Europe and Asia.
These new uniforms represent more than a fresh look—they reflect the pride of thousands of employees who make it possible for Avianca to connect millions of people every day. With this collection, the airline begins a new chapter in its history, reaffirming its identity, commitment to excellence, and vision of continuing to connect Latin America with the world.
