In 2023, 214,000 travelers added a free stopover of up to 10 days in Lisbon or Porto to their outbound or return journey.  Some 20 percent of those travelers originated from the United States of America.

The most popular final destinations for Stopover customers from the USA were Barcelona, Madrid and Rome. Funchal and Ponta Delgada were also among the top 10 destinations favored by Americans. TAP also makes it possible to make a second stopover in Portugal, offering a 25 percent discount on any domestic flight.

Portugal Stopover customers have access to exclusive offers and discounts at 149 partners across the country, including hotels, restaurants, activities, tours, museums and cultural spaces, shopping and services, among others.

Every year Global Traveler magazine honors the best in the world of leisure and lifestyle travel, rewarding goods, services, destinations, hotels, airlines, airports, cruises and much more.
