This includes a migration of the existing Lido Flight Planning Solution from their Emirates-hosted environment to the Lufthansa Systems-hosted Azure Cloud environment.

“The new Lido Flight 4D contract was a long journey, and the conclusion thereof once again highlights the ongoing trust our customers place in us as a leading provider of aviation IT solutions. We look forward to continuing our longstanding partnership with Emirates well into the future”, said Marco Cesa, SVP Regional Management EMEA at Lufthansa Systems.

Emirates is one of the world’s leading airlines with a global footprint in nearly 130 destinations. The airline first started using Lufthansa Systems’ Lido Flight Planning Solutions in 1996 and one of the key changes will be the migration of the airline’s on-premise Lido Flight installation to Lufthansa Systems’ cloud environment.

The airline also became an early adopter of the Windows-based charting application Lido eRoute Manual in 2008, and in 2021 opted to include the iPadOS-based charting application, the Lido mPilot, as part of their flight operations solutions suite.

Lido is the Flight Operations Solutions product family of Lufthansa Systems. The product line offers the aviation industry three key areas of products and services: Lido Data Solutions, Lido Flight Planning Solutions, and Lido Pilot Solutions. With the Lido products, Lufthansa Systems supports its customers in increasing the safety, cost, and reducing the workload of the entire mission – both on the ground and in the air.
