Press Release: Diehl Aerosystems innovates in the retrofit market

At this year’s leading trade fair for aircraft cabins, the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg from April 5 to 7, Diehl Aerosystems, as “first tier supplier” partner for electronics and cabin integration for aircraft manufacturers and retrofit specialist for aircraft operators, presents its core competencies in the line-fit business as well as additional competencies for the retrofit business.

The cabin retrofit market, where Diehl Aerosystems offers new cabin elements for replacing aircraft interiors, is to be reflected more strongly in the business activities. For this, Diehl Aerosystems is setting up a network of partners for this market segment.

The stand (7D20) at the traditional spot in hall B7 will show an “airline retrofit” cabin mock-up, including several sample products of Diehl Aerosystems. In addition, like in previous years, the company will present an impressive “Big Picture” mock-up: In 2016, the large photogenic exhibit shows the design of the DIANA research project.

This year’s Crystal Cabin Award competition seems particularly promising for Diehl Aerosystems. The division is the only contender still in the race with more than one finalist. Three contributions by Diehl are vying for the award, with winners to be announced on April 5 (www.crystal-cabin-award.com): Smart Galley, Green Fire Suppression and Projection Enabled Flight Experience (DandelionTM), all of which are also on show in the “innovation area” of Diehl’s exhibition stand.

Diehl Aerosystems is a corporate division of Diehl Stiftung & Co. KG and covers all aerospace activities of the Diehl Group. With its business units Diehl Aerospace (a joint venture with Thales), Diehl Aircabin, Diehl Comfort Modules, Diehl Service Modules and AOA, Diehl Aerosystems is a leading systems supplier for avionics and cabin solutions. Diehl Aerosystems currently employs around 4,800 staff. Amongst its customers are leading aircraft manufacturers (OEMs), such as Airbus (both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters), Boeing, Bombardier and Embraer, as well as airlines and other operators of commercial and business aircraft
