Press Release hub banner blue with title in red white and blueCarlisle Interconnect Technologies (CIT) announced today that it is now offering its interconnect technologies for next-generation air mobility applications, including More Electric Aircraft (MEA), All Electric Aircraft (AEA), and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM).

Automotive, aviation and aerospace manufacturers, as well as independent tech startups, are all working on these emerging technologies to make short-distance, high-speed, little- to no-emission air travel a reality.

These aircraft leverage electrification and automation to transport people, cargo or both more efficiently. Electric aerial vehicles are anticipated to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emission, fuel consumption, noise pollution, and operating costs. Key considerations for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) entering this market include interconnect solutions that conduct or use a high level of electrical power, design optimized for aircraft size, weight, and power, and airworthiness requirements and certifications.

CIT is well-positioned to meet the unique needs electric aircraft developers to build an electrical system that can generate, maintain, distribute, and insulate the high voltages required electric air travel. Leveraging more than 80 years of experience, the company’s broad portfolio of custom solutions includes air and ground systems, test and measurement devices, data and power ecosystems, and more to help developers build the high-voltage electrical systems needed for these cutting-edge aircraft.

“As we continue to see an increase in aircraft electrification demands, the more we understand how important our experience is to this market. Electrification stands to transform aerial transportation as we know it, so supporting our customer’s needs for immediate solutions is just as important as important as being able to design their future needs,” said Tom Turner, Product Manager at CIT. “For decades, CIT has provided leading interconnect solutions that meet the demanding conditions of aerospace, avionics and space travel. We have the experience and expertise to help our customers enter this market successfully and our engineers are already developing solutions for AAM that will help make this innovative form of transportation a reality.”

In addition to its existing portfolio, CIT’s in-house engineering experts will collaborate with customers to develop tailored solutions based on their specific high-voltage design requirements. With 18 manufacturing facilities worldwide, CIT has the ability to quickly ramp up production for new interconnect solutions, minimizing lead times and increasing speed-to-market for electric aircraft developers.
