Runway Girl Network, the leading #PaxEx industry news and intelligence platform, is today appointing John Walton as deputy editor to further expand its deep and broad coverage of the passenger experience.
As deputy editor, John will continue to write about all aspects of the passenger experience, while also aiding in the development of new, diverse talent on RGN, including mentoring journalists.
John Walton has written extensively for Runway Girl Network since its inception, appearing regularly across its core coverage areas: safety, connectivity, comfort and services. John currently helms the Up Front column (concentrating on business, first and premium economy passenger experience) and RGN’s new In Conversation podcast. He also appears regularly on RGN’s hit YouTube series #PaxEx TV and the #PaxEx Podcast.
“Now more than ever before, serious journalism is needed in the media, and I am thrilled to have John at my side as we grow Runway Girl Network’s core areas of specialization even further,” says Editor and Publisher Mary Kirby. “John was among the first journalists to work with me at RGN, and has been at the forefront of breaking news in commercial aviation for the best part of a decade. With John’s extensive interiors industry background, I’m very pleased to invest in bringing the detail of these vital parts of the world’s largest industry to our readers, on both the publicly accessible and RGN Premium sides of Runway Girl Network.”
“I couldn’t be more delighted to be working more closely with Mary Kirby and the entire Runway Girl Network team,” says John Walton, RGN Deputy Editor. “From our scoops and hard-hitting analysis of every part of the passenger experience, to inspiring the next generation of women, people of color and LGBTQIA people — among others from non-traditional backgrounds — to join this fascinating industry through Lean Into Aviation, RGN is an incredible place to write.”
